I've just got to go with my gut when I rate things, and my gut tells me this show was great, but it was lacking something to elevate it to masterpiece level. Thus, the entire story is ultimately an exercise in Great Man Theory, and those who aren't "heroes" themselves are just coal to be shoveled into history's furnace (that's a weird metaphor, but it's the image that spontaneously came into my mind, so I'm going to run with it). My recently hired maid is suspicious hentaifr. This show, much like the original Gundam series, is ultimately, basically, a long road trip punctuated by robot fights. The entire show is littered with references to movies, anime, Japanese pop culture, and a slew of other things, and just catching the references is part of the fun of watching it. Mobile Suit Gundam Wing (TV)||Not really good||. The characters themselves, as well as the relationships between them, all become much more interesting. While this movie does contain its own climax and everything, it still mostly feels like just the first half of something longer, and it seems like it's going to be at least three years (well, a little more than two years from the time I've written this) before we get to see the second half.
Every anime fan should watch it at some point -- just, watch the remake afterward. Maybe that, on its own, is actually fair -- in the end, I suppose tactics are just about generating favorable conditions for your side and then executing. My recently hired maid is suspicious manga. I don't exactly hate her, but she can be just maddening to observe. Galaxy Express 999 (movie)|. It was a decent enough diversion, but I can't help but feel I would have just dropped it entirely if it didn't fit so snugly into my daily schedule like that. I've heard lots of hype about Yukikaze, which I have yet to see, but Macross Zero stands head and shoulders above any show that I have seen in the battles department. Having read on Wikipedia now how the manga ends, I have to say I'm thrilled the anime ended where it did.
And sometimes I feel a little bit like a show that didn't click with me this time might later on. Super Dimensional Fortress Macross II: The Movie (OAV)||So-so|| I don't know if Macross II is as bad as its reputation, but it's not very good -- it's definitely the weakest link in the Macross franchise and deservedly the black sheep. And it may seem a little nitpicky to call the show out on this next point, but at about the same time these clips began, Mutta was assigned to work with a bunch of engineers who were a not-so-subtle reference to the Ghostbusters. Macross fans may want to check it out as a historical curiosity. It's not something that's terribly important, but I felt that it was worth mentioning all the same, since it struck me each time I saw it as I was rewatching the series recently. Mizuto and Yume are a former couple who had a relationship in junior high school but became increasingly irritated with each other and used their graduation to break up. Mike Reinold & Lenny Macrina- Teaching and Training the Baseball Player. So are the character designs, so is the story, so is the music, so is the animation... everything about this show is great.
I'm not complaining. My recently hired maid is suspicious. Actually, I wanted to watch something scifi (which is weird because, aside from my love of Gundam and Macross, I don't really have any particular affinity for scifi) and particularly something set in space. To this end, he takes on the alias of Conan Edogawa, inspired by the mystery writers Arthur Conan Doyle and Ranpo Edogawa. To make matters worse, old allies have suddenly reappeared as sworn enemies. Fans of the original show will probably enjoy this, but for some reason I just didn't really.

The story and the character interactions are all a little bit paint by numbers, and the idea of a platinum blonde American teenager who speaks fluent Japanese and is super into yosakoi is -- well, there are 300 million people in America so it's not impossible, but it's a little bit implausible. It's still one of Gainax's weaker shows, but Gainax's weakest work is better than a lot of what's floating around out there. All the candy recommended by Beniko, the owner of the store, is perfectly suited to the buyer's troubles. I'm actually rather enjoying the whole Yamato franchise, and this movie was no exception. To be honest, the whole paradigm of high school kids who are something more has become a ridiculous anime cliche that is rarely executed well. New friends and familiar faces join Boruto as a new story begins. It's basically a slice of life show about a high school kid who moves into a shared house with a wacky (of course they're wacky) group plus a straight-laced upperclasswoman from his school that he of course develops an unrequited crush on. I'm not a huge Eva fan but I enjoy it enough and I had a pretty good time with this movie. A few months after starting his hibernation, Nowa wakes up with a pleasant sensation from Airi, now an adult dog, licking his nipple saying, "I've been waiting for a long time. " It's got some really fun setpieces (such as one set around the African orbital elevator) that are about as entertaining as anything else in the Gundam canon, although the series as a whole falls short of the greatest Gundam series. Nadia is ostensibly our main character (not just because the show is named after her, but the plot itself is also centered totally on her), but the show evokes a distinct sympathy for Jean. Side stories to Cap Kakumei Bottleman DX released biweekly on the Takara Tomy YouTube channel.
