The Spring Scouts worked together all afternoon, and built the biggest, shadiest and coziest fort they had ever seen! The circus bugs also help here, especially since more of their humor relies on actual jokes rather than simply referencing insect trivia. Banished from his home for having such lofty ambitions, Despereaux sets off on an amazing adventure... Somehow, he can use it perfectly without any training. Speaking of inconsistencies, this movie cannot make up its mind about how the shrink tech works. Lasseter is even quoted in Business Week as being friends with Katzenberg after the latter spent so much time championing "Toy Story. " The Sword in the Stone. God, I despise this part in movies where you know the hero's just gonna be taken back, but because they found out the person was a liar, they have to throw him out and act like he's not part of the group, when, hey, wait a minute, this is actually a good idea, and it turns out to kind of work in the end. They enjoy this kind of story, they like watching it, they like seeing the hero go through this journey where they're cast out, only to get the nerve to come back and be strong again, and you know what? Going it be fun watching A Bugs Life again! Style: humorous, entertaining, talky, witty, semi serious...
