I'm not sure if replacing the AFM valve helped but for $13 it didn't hurt and I will never need to pull the pan for this issue again (at least not on the vehicle). I got the car and replaced it again but it was only a short while under load before the lifter was ticking again so I took the engine apart, replaced all lifters and the cam. But at idle I typically see 38-42 depending on temps, 45-55 under throttle, and 60-70 at WOT.
Haven't made the first payment yet..... Paul, one of my lifters on my 2005 is tapping about once a month. Replaced screen/filter under sensor. They called me back later. When I started the engine afterwards, it had some initial problems due to things that I had missed, but after those were corrected, it ran fine.
