In what ways do the key differences between Rachel and Helen's upbringings seem visible earlier in the novel before we ever follow Katie to meet Rachel's father? Rachel's connection to the group is disappointingly easy to spot and the novel just too drawn-out to prove particularly suspenseful with a pace can only be described as sluggish. And then you have the blurb which intrigues the reader, piquing your interest to the point where you have to find out more. Awesome storytelling, and pulling everything together (even the littlest things), to tie up the ending perfectly.

I really hated that it seemed Selena was getting away, especially after I realised Helen's baby was impacted by Selena drugging Helen without her knowledge. A cracking debut by any standards, Greenwich Park is packed with deviousness and lies. Helen is attending prenatal classes solo and meets a new overly friendly woman named Rachel.

I can't get enough of books that explore the darkness and tensions lurking underneath picture-perfect exteriors, and if that appeals to you too, you'll love GREENWICH PARK. Creepy yet captivating. " Helen is a bit frustrated at home. One aspect of Rachel felt a little obvious but it all added to the big question – WHY was she doing this to sweet, naïve Helen?! Faulkner attempts to hold readers' attention by interspersing episodes of a dark and mysterious character throughout Helen's first-person narration, but the stakes in this section of the book are simply not high enough. Dark and twisty and had me engaged the entire time. I was quickly tired of how much time Helen spent feeling sorry for herself.

I Knew Rachel had to have been the girl who was raped 10 years prior, that much was obvious but I honestly thought both Daniel & Rory were the rapists and that was why she got into Helen's life, at least to get in with the foursome. Soon, Rachel is everywhere Helen is and she somehow manages to ingratiate herself into Helen's life.
I did actually really enjoy this book. Discuss whether this reflects the nature of relationships inside the novel. It is an incredibly accomplished mystery which just oozes suspense, is wonderfully plotted and features quite possibly one of the most satisfying denouements I have ever read. Helen and Rory are siblings. I try to concentrate. A story of obsession and cat-and-mouse tension. But her increasingly erratic behavior is unsettling. Jess, as Carol mentioned, I too thoroughly disliked Serena throughout the book, but hadn't guessed the direction of the denouement until quite late in the book. Would I recommend this book? Written seamlessly through multiple points of view, and peeling back the picture-perfect façade of individuals with terrible secrets in their past, GREENWICH PARK is sure to be one of 2022's most buzzed-about domestic thrillers. When the police arrive at Helen's doorstep, we receive our first in-text confirmation that things with Rachel, though always somewhat mysterious, have indeed taken a turn for the grim. The reader is able to closely follow Helen's pregnancy since sections of the novel are distinguished by how far along Helen is in her term. At the heart of the Greenwich house, this crack is highly symbolic as key schisms come to bear in the ties between Helen, Daniel, Rory, Serena, and Charlie. "What's the deal, then? Helen's husband is out of town and her brother and sister-in-law who are also expecting cancel out on this class at the last minute. I was hooked by Helen and Rachel's story, desperate to find out the reasons behind Rachel's actions. I was so annoyed with these characters that I understand why the eventual murder occured 😂. Discuss first impressions. She eats all their food, leaves the house in disarray and has no qualms about making herself completely at home. She's cagey about it though, not wanting to confide in Helen until she has enough proof. Spoiler alert, yes indeed, that last line packed a wallop, and was also. Ann yes, thanks for mentioning the lack of follow-up on the mortgage refinance calls. The thriller wrapped up nicely with all of the readers questions being answered at the end. Jess wrote: "The way that Katie kept trying to bring up another person involved made me think that Helen knew exactly who it was or had her suspicions that it could have been Serena and was just in denial --that's the only question I had when I closed the was she so adamant about dropping it?...
