While Tabitha is waiting for Baby Anthony to be brought to Pop's, she overhears Kevin and another officer talking about a turkey shoot out with the Serpents. With Percival elected on the town council, killing 22 Ghoulies and maybe almost killing the Serpents, Archie, Betty, and Jughead are at a loss of what to do.
Archie, Betty, and Jughead hang back after the town hall meeting, discussing just what is up with Percival. Twyla demands one last fight: The Serpents vs. the Ghoulies for Riverdale. Dr. Curdle Jr. calls Betty at the FBI office and tells her that Ghoulies' slaughter that left 22 dead may not have been a slaughter after all. We tend to believe that evil and its machinations are constantly in motion in our world.
While this scheme is in the process, Catherine looks for other ways to win Henry's heart and convince the King to not look for a replacement daughter-in-law just yet. Tabitha butts in after Percival asks about disbanding the Serpents, saying Toni isn't on trial. Percival Pickens has been making his rounds across Riverdale, and his next stop is the Andrews household to have a word with Frank. Archie suggests they go to their friends, people they trust, and recruit them for their side. "I don't think Percival wants to take over Riverdale. Archie, Betty, and Jughead meet with Cheryl, or Abigail, first, but she is not willing to help, as she is not so forgiving. Having discovered Henry and Diane's love affair, Catherine tries to get Henry to visit her and spend more time with her. After Jughead tells Betty and Archie about Cheryl, Betty goes to Thornhill, acting like Archie died. For the country is secure, there is peace and well… it was fascinating to see that Catherine was nothing more than a mother for a chunk of this tale. For giving us such a dynamic performance that showed us both sides of this equation and well, now that there are others pushing against the once and future Queen, it is best we brace ourselves as she prepares to inform everyone… who is really in control. The fire goes out, and the Julian doll falls out of Nana Rose's hands. He got out safely, but for the Ghoulies, it was a blood bath. For she was now the Queen of France, and she was part of the King's executive council, advising her husband on important and critical manners, and she held nothing back in those meetings.
With Percival now trying to push out Toni and the Serpents, Kevin's feeling more protective over Baby Anthony. She later shows up at Riverdale High with scones of her own making, giving one to Archie, Jughead, and Betty. She needs this goodwill with Henry, especially if she is to overthrow Diane from his heart. As Diane explained to her previously, she will be freer than she has ever been. But that… proved to be too kind of a move on the Queen's part. This act will show his father that he is not a cowardly person and would certainly uplift his image in front of the entire court. Archie kicks him out, much to Frank's dismay.
A search for Baby Anthony commences at Pop's, headed by Betty and Tabitha. Where she let her cousin become the true love to the man she loved and where she was in essence, something of a ghost to her own family. Given Fangs and Toni's recent behavior, Kevin says it shouldn't be hard for him to win guardianship. At the town hall meeting, the town-wide consensus determines that residents aren't fond of the ongoing gang warfare between the Serpents and Ghoulies.
Abigail lets her in, and Betty immediately puts a cloth over her mouth and knocks her out. She has the humungous task of convincing everyone, mainly the King, why she shouldn't simply be replaced by another, better prospect for Henry. When Catherine came to France, she had been a trade-off arranged by her uncle. Abigail doesn't like that Archie, Betty, and Jughead are still alive, but she's going to move on with the ritual and get some of Toni's blood by way of a bouquet of roses with some thorns. Toni gets a weird sense of deja vu of the same thing happening.
When a pleasant outing with the princesses turns into a bloody affair, Catherine realizes just how much of a hold Diaane actually has on Henry. So, as long as Henry is away, Catherine is safe, especially now that the King has assured her that she will be taken care of. Thanks to Betty being able to read her aura, which is red, she can tell there's something up with Cheryl and accuses her of poisoning the scones. For when we catch up with Princess Catherine de' Medici in 'A New Era', fifteen peaceful years have passed. Archie catches Betty and Jughead up on what happened with "Cheryl, " and Jughead leaves to read her mind to try to pick up on anything.
The events of the second episode take a step further in establishing her as a force to be reckoned with. This advice, once it actually works in Henry's favor, will also prove to him that Catherine can be much more useful to him instead of just having his babies. Toni pleads with him, not understanding why he's doing this. They have a warrant to search for illegal weapons.
