I have so much love for These Witches Don't Burn by Isabel Sterling, a debut contemporary f/f YA fantasy out today, and while you can find some of that love expressed on the back cover in blurb form, I'm extra excited to help celebrate its entrance into the world by hosting this guest post! Not my norm, but loved it. It turns out that she saw a fire and thought there was another smaller party going on but when she went to go look someone had burned a pentagram and sacrificed a raccoon causing her to slip on its blood and mess up her wrist. Among the white main cast, Hannah is a self-identified lesbian, and Sterling presents a realistic treatment of her other queer characters.
I know its made up and all a figment of the authors imagination but the reason that it made me sad is because well, the bad guys want them dead because of their powers. Close friends, many queer themselves, asked me with knowing expressions, "What's your deal? These witches don't burn review blog. The hint of something dark and sinister lurking around was an added bonus. Even secondary characters are well-rounded, with their own histories and 's not much plot here, but readers will relish the opportunity to climb inside Autumn's head. I just almost cried is all. A TL;DR OF MY REVIEW: - I LOVED this book!!! Or it could be something worse—Witch Hunters. By Ann Hemingway on 2019-12-14. Have you read this wonderful, magical book yet? Thankfully, it was dropped towards the second half, but it did not need to be reiterated 30 times. And at the same time, Hannah is intrigued by Morgan, a new crush. It would almost have been better with no romance at all; Hannah had more chemistry with literally everyone other than Morgan:( I didn't want her to get back with Veronica because that was obviously toxic, so no romance would have been better, I think. I loved the differing relationships, Veronica and Hannah, Hannah and Gemma, Hannah and Morgan and even Hannah and her parents, each pair there was development and involvement in the plot. Gemma convinces Hannah to go to a party, where Hannah investigates the boy she thinks set up the ritual. The first was a fantasy novel about a girl with two dads and a bisexual best friend. I love that the world in the book is more open and better at accepting something perceived as 'different'. Turns out Morgan is new to town and she's bisexual. This book is equal parts fun f/f love story and thrilling mystery. Veronica gives her all to get Hannah to take her back, and Hannah is understandably lured by her advances, but I admired how Hannah had the strength to say no each time. I read the blurb and saw a few people recommend it and I got way too excited way too quickly, so I was let down by various parts of the book. Narrated by: Jamie Zubairi. This is a book that's able to appeal to readers of both contemporary and fantasy books, and that's truly magical. Share your opinion of this book. Its small but it means a lot because we've gone on so long assuming.

There was no cop out or easy happily ever after for every character. It wasn't like some characters were left out after being developed.
The synopsis states that Hannah and her ex Veronica team up to kick ass but that's a little far off. But I wasn't fascinated or addicted to it. Ooooh this was very fun, and then it took a really dark turn, and fkjhhjgjk I literally binged it in a single sitting and didn't even stop to come upstairs and make it as currently reading which SAYS SOMTHING. Morgan and Hannah go on a date that is cut short when Hannah gets a call from Veronica that a person is attacking her. Veronica (SC) is queer (unlabeled, possibly gay).
Narrated by: Dion Graham, January LaVoy. Tarisai has always longed for the warmth of a family. There were some moments were I was a bit excited about the book but the okay parts were the majority. Hannah and Morgan were a welcome break from all the Blood Witch and Witch Hunter things going on in the background of the novel, and it was empowering to read about how healthy their relationship was after seeing the toxicity of Hannah and Veronica's. But it would be safe to say that there isn't much romance in the book. Of course, living with humans (or "regs" in this book), the whole aspect of having to keep her powers secret added a whole other dimension of conflict to the story. Feels like retelling the same event. I loved how those magical elements were blended with a contemporary time and setting. Antigone's parents–Oedipus and Jocasta–are dead. The blend of contemporary and fantasy was nice.
They claim that they way they live is an abomination to human while they are talking about witches in the book (hey, if you are a witch and they are real, more power to you. She was raised in isolation by a mysterious, often absent mother known only as the Lady. Most notably, at different points in the book, we get slightly more detail about the event with the blood witch that resulted in Hannah and Veronica's breakup... but I still don't get what actually happened and why. Born in Kenya, he has lost all family connections, and has never visited India before.
I had a lot of fun reading this book. And makes you get to the sequel soon as well. Relationship dynamics:★★★★. By Anonymous User on 2022-01-29. She thought no one noticed... buuuuttt....... they go to a party at Nolans house where Hannah asked Veronica to help her with some truth stones so she could question Ethan because she thought he was the witch hunter. Gemma, Hannah's best friend, convinces Hannah to go to a party where she talks to her closest guy friend Benton. And I really liked it. This time around, they get to decide which applicants are approved for residency. Narrated by: Lessa Lamb.
