What was your motivation to put a book together? That same year, five more Vermont resorts followed suit and hired Niehues to paint bird's-eye aerial views of their mountains, right down the intricate details of individual pine trees and cars in the parking lots. Once the sketch is transferred to the painting surface, I work with an airbrush to paint the sky and all the snow's undulating surfaces. Getting them down the hill is extremely important, too. All this data informs his ability to construct a coherent panorama for resort guests. When I use a brush, the watercolour comes off the brush in many variations providing better texturing and colour. You have so many different Utah regional maps that you have done.
