At the end it was the gauge on the instrument cluster. A mechanic said every thing checked out ok but it may be the wiring harness. Check that the port isn't leaking oil near the gauge and if it is, try tightening the gauge more. As far as this issue, first step is always replacing the oil pressure sensor, but seeing as you've done that, might be a good idea to drop the pan and inspect the pickup. The minimum acceptable pressure at idle, warmed up, is about 10 PSI. It almost always tends to be the gauge in this scenario, as an actual loss of oil pressure for any amount of time when an engine is up to temperature would cause noticable noise almost immediately not to mention damage. The engine runs great, and if it wern't for the annoying "check gages" light and chime at idle, I wouldn't know there was a problem - aside from the gage reading! Its entire life the oil pressure has been at half (so figure about 40psi) and now in the past week or two it is now at 75psi at idle and goes upwards of 85-90psi at 3000rpm.
